Summary:

Zack, his dad, and new stepmother have just moved back to his father’s hometown, not knowing that their new house has a dark history. Fifty years ago, a crazed killer caused an accident at the nearby crossroads that took 40 innocent lives. He died when his car hit a tree in a fiery crash, and his malevolent spirit has inhabited the tree ever since. During a huge storm, lightning hits the tree, releasing the spirit, who decides his evil spree isn’t over . . . and Zack is directly in his sights.

Award-winning thriller author Chris Grabenstein fills his first book for younger readers with the same humorous and spine-tingling storytelling that has made him a fast favorite with adults.

Characters:

I like the relationship that forms between Zack and his stepmother she is not a mean and cruel like most stepmother’s in other novels.  She is like a big kid trying to adjust to her new responsibilities as a parent.

My Review:

I found this book very entertaining.  I liked the storyline and the plot twist.  It does have some spooky moments so like most people I agree, that this should be in the YA section rather then the children’s section.  Zack does have some flash backs of his mother who died of cancer, she is somewhat of a mystery and seemed to have been rather mean to Zack, but I’m sure that is going to be explained in future novels.  This book is good old time ghost tale and is very enjoyable.

Summary:

When the supernatural world spins out of control, when the police can’t handle what goes bump in the night, when monsters come screaming out of nightmares and into the mean streets, there’s just one man to call: Harry Dresden, the only professional wizard in the Chicago phone book. A police consultant and private investigator, Dresden has to walk the dangerous line between the world of night and the light of day.

Now Harry Dresden is investigating a brutal mauling at the Lincoln Park Zoo that has left a security guard dead and many questions unanswered. As an investigator of the supernatural, he senses that there’s more to this case than a simple animal attack, and as Dresden searches for clues to figure out who is really behind the crime, he finds himself next on the victim list, and being hunted by creatures that won’t leave much more than a stain if they catch him.

Written exclusively for comics by Jim Butcher, The Dresden Files: Welcome to the Jungle is a brand-new story that’s sure to enchant readers with a blend of gripping mystery and fantastic adventure.

Character:

I first got interested in Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden after watching the series, I just started reading the books but I thought I would get started by reading the graphic novels and then get into the novels.

My Review:

The Illustration was fantastic! The Storyline was good, with amazing graphics that tied the storyline into a thrill ride.  If you don’t know the history of Harry Dresden it could be hard to understand but it does give short details of the past.  I enjoyed the book and can’t wait to get a hold of the remaining books in this series.
