I have used several filters this year but these top the list for making cool backgrounds!

1. Wood Workshop - Free seamless texture editor, you can make some neat wood backgrounds with this program.

 

2. Graphics Plus -Kaleidoscope is the only option I have used so far in this filter pack because it has worked great for me so far! 

 

3. Redfield Filters – Lattice Composer and Graphics Plus Kaleidoscope make an awesome due for creating backgrounds!

 

4. Flaming Pear Super Blade Pro – Super Blade Pro makes cool side bar backgrounds and tiled backgrounds.

 

5. Simple – The best options in this pack for creating backgrounds are 4 Way Average, Center Tile, Pizza Slice Mirror, Quick Tile, Top Left Mirror and Zoom out and Flip.

 

6. Filter Forge Free pack 1 – Metals - Another outstanding filter that you can create some realistic metal backgrounds.
